Please come join us in commemorating the enduring legacy of Coach James J. Mosley Jr., an undeniable icon in the world of academia and athletics, who transformed lives through the game of football. As a coach at Green Oaks and Booker T. Washington High Schools, Coach Mosley instilled discipline and inspiration in numerous young athletes, propelling them to achieve their highest potential, both on and off the field. Let's unite to celebrate his extraordinary impact and remarkable influence on our community.

Our Coach
James Johnson Mosley, Jr. is the fourth of seven children born December 19, 1954, to the late James Johnson Mosley, Sr. and Ruth L. Mosley in Shreveport, Louisiana. James is a product of Valencia High School and a 1972 graduate of C.E.Byrd High School, where he was the first ever African American starting Quarterback at a predominantly White High School in the state of Louisiana. James was first Team All District/All City and All State Quarterback at C.E. Byrd High School and in May 2005 was inducted into the C.E.Byrd High School Hall of Fame.
James athletic ability earned him a full Scholarship to Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he was a four-year starter at Quarterback and made All SWAC his senior year. His last college pass as Quarterback at Southern University was a fifty-nine yard touchdown to win the renowned Pelican Bowl then played in the Super-dome. James graduated from Southern University in 1977; thereafter becoming a Graduate Assistant Football Coach at the university. He met his lovely wife Jean on campus at Southern University and have been married for thirty-four years, Jean is a Public Relations Manager for McDonald's Corporations and they are the proud parents of twenty seven year old Jared Jacobe' a Caddo Parish Sheriff Deputy.
After returning to Shreveport, Louisiana, James was hired as an Assistant Football Coach at Green Oaks High School in 1978. After seven successful seasons he was awarded the Head Football Coaching position at Booker T. Washington High School in 1986. For the past (26) twenty-six years has been a Lion at heart, coaching in all the Soul Bowl games between Green Oaks High School and Booker T. Washington High School during this era.
After thirty-two years in the Caddo Parish School system, June 2011, Coach James Johnson Mosley, Jr. RETIRED!
